Brand Marketing Man Tyler Westhause decides to write about Chicago Bulls Basketball
The Chicago Bulls franchise is in a weird state of being at the moment, however I can only seem to focus on the partnership of the between the new Chicago Bulls City Jersey’s and the iconic Chicago theater. Oh, also the ever important off-season
Quite a few fans I see in the Bulls community expect some magical trade or signing to occur. When they speak of this, they’re thinking of one name: Anthony Davis (https://www.nba.com/player/203076/anthony_davis)
I’m happy to report that I, Tyler Westhause, can confirm that Anthony Davis will not be signing with the Chicago Bulls in the 2020 NBA Free Agency window. (I can confirm this by way of common knowledge and rational thinking.)
The Chicago Bulls have a tremendous young core, albeit one that is incredibly underdeveloped. I place a lot of that blame on Jim Boylen, but also on the training staff.
The team was plagued by injuries in the 2019–2020 NBA Season. It felt as though Otto Porter was injured the entire season, and he was a player I was very excited to see added to the team. Desperately in need of a wing, Otto Porter provides the experience of an above-average, yet wildly over-paid small forward.
Deni Avidja has been labeled by many as the best all-around wing players in the 2020 Draft, and with the 4th pick he very likely could be targeted by the Bulls. That being said, many folks seems to think Deni Avidja is the second-coming of Luka Doncic. I believe this is largely because he is white.
Given that this series of posts is called “The Sporadic Chicago Bulls Thoughts of Tyler John Westhause,” it seems appropriate to mention one thing: I both simultaneously love with a passion and hate with a passion the 2019–2020 Chicago Bulls City Edition jerseys.
I really enjoy this new aesthetic! Having grown up in the suburbs of Chicago, I am a sucker for Chicago landmarks. And speaking as someone who works in marketing, partnerships, and overall visibility of products in the gaming space, something that stands out in a sea of like-content is incredibly important.
I am color-blind, but not blind. The Chicago River hardly qualifies as “blue.” I have no idea what color it is, but I know enough to know that the way they’ve coined that color is incorrect.

I’ll write more about how I hate the Chicago Bulls Christmas Jerseys from a few years back down the line! It’ll be a nice way for me to vent general frustrations :)
